2011 Doc Challenge Winners Announced

Announcing the winners of the 2011 International Documentary Challenge!

Winners were announced following the World Premiere screening at the Hot Docs International Canadian Documentary Festival.

The twelve finalists will be online for viewing and voting for the Audience Award (a $500 cash award presented by the Documentary Channel) later this week. Films are now online in our Screening Room!

2011 Doc Challenge films premiere at Hot Docs

Your wait is over! The WORLD PREMIERE of the top 2011 Doc Challenge films will take place at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival this coming Sunday May 1, 2011. The screening will take place at 9:30pm at Innis Town Hall. This year's screening consists of twelve films surrounding the theme of "Movement" and includes films about the end of times, reviving old time traditions with a modern twist, life and death, kooky karaoke and much, much more.

Awards will be presented for Best Film (presented by the Documentary Channel,) the DER Award and the POV award during the screening. Good luck to all the filmmakers.

In Toronto? Be sure to attend the screening!

Check back in early May to watch the films and vote for your favorite for the Audience Award.

Announcing the Finalists for the 2011 International Documentary Challenge!

The following films will premiere at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival in Toronto on Sunday May 1, 2011.

2011 Doc Challenge Judging

The 2011 Doc Challenge has finished up and judging is currently underway. Congratulations to all 81 teams who turned in their films on time and are eligible for awards and prizes. The top twelve finalists will be announced in early April. Good luck teams!
 
The 2011 Doc Challenge has commenced!
Teams from 12 countries around the world are currently hard at work making documentaries incorporating the theme of "Movement" that will be completed by next Monday, March 7.
Top films will screen at Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival, North America's largest documentary film festival. Select films will also screen on the Documentary Channel.
