Meet The Producers

The International Documentary Challenge is produced by Doug Whyte through a nonprofit organization called KDHX Community Media.

doug.whyteDoug Whyte has more than 14 years of experience with documentary film in a variety of roles, including instructor, event producer, programmer and filmmaker. Whyte spent several years as the Program Coordinator for the Webster University Film Series in Saint Louis, MO, USA, and then moved on to found the Media Arts Department for KDHX Community Media where he is currently serving as the Director of Media Arts Programs. In addition to managing the department and its support programs for filmmakers, Whyte personally created the International Documentary Challenge. Whyte also serves on the Board of Directors for Film Action Oregon, is a member of the Programming Committee for the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in Missoula, MT and recently sat on the festival juries for Big Sky, the Ashland Independent Film Festival and Dokufest in Kosovo. Whyte lives and works in Portland, Oregon, USA.

The mission of KDHX is to build community through media, with diverse and independent voices that enrich the perspectives of our audiences.
